Aru Red-cheeked Parrots (Geoffroyus geoffroyi aruensis) - Range: Aru Islands in the province of Maluku in eastern Indonesia, southern New Guinea, Fergusson and Goodenough Islands in eastern Papuan Islands, and Queensland, Australia

Australian King Parrots aka Eastern King, Queensland King, King Lory, Scarlet Parrot, Green Parrot(Alisterus scapularis) - Range: Australia

Australian Ringneck (Barnardius zonarius) - Range: Mainland Australian states

Bare-eyed Cockatoo or Little Corella (Cacatua sanguineat) - Range: Eastern, North-western and Northern Australia

Black Cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus banksii banksii aka Psittacus magnificus / Calyptorhynchus magnificusz) - Range: Eastern Australia

Blue Bonnet or Yellow-vented Blue-bonnet Parrot (Northiella haematogaster haemetogaster or Psephotus haematogaster haematogaster)- Range: Western and southern New South Wales, north-western Victoria and south-eastern South Australia

Blue-winged Grass Parakeet or Blue-winged Parrot (Neophema chrysostoma) aka Blue-banded Parakeet or Blue-banded Grass-parakeet - Range: Tasmania; winter in Australia

Bourke's Parakeets (Neopsephotus Bourkii) - Range: Southwestern and Central Australia

Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) aka budgies or parakeets - Range: Interior Australia

Carnaby's Cockatoo or Short-billed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus latirostris) - Range: South-western Australia

Cockatiels (Nymphensittich / Nymphicus hollandicus ) - Range: Central Australia

Cloncurry Parrot (Platycercus barnardi macgillivrayi) - Range: Australia - North-western Queensland, adjacent eastern area Northern Territory

Coxen's Fig Parrot or Coxen's Double-eyed Fig-parrot (Cyclopsitta diophthalma coxeniis) - Range: Australia: from the Mary River (Gympie) in Queensland south to the Richmond River in New South Wales and west to the Bunya Mountains

Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans) - Range: East and southeast Australia (Southern Queensland to Victoria); New Zealand

Eastern Rosella (Platycercus eximius) - Range: Southeast Australia and Tasmania. It has also been introduced into New Zealand

Eclectus Parrot (Eclectus roratus) - Range: Solomon Islands, New Guinea, northeastern Australia and the Maluku Islands (Moluccas)

Elegant Parrots, Elegant Grass Parakeets or Elegant Neophemas (Neophema elegans) - Range: South-western and South-eastern Australia as well as Kangaroo Island

Fig-parrots - Range: New Guinea and Australia

Galah Cockatoos / Roseate Cockatoos - Range: Australia

Gang Gang Cockatoo - Range:Eastern coast of Australia

Glossy Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami) - Range: Australia

Golden-shouldered Parrot (Psephotus chrysopterygius) - Range: Southern Cape York Peninsula in Australia.

Grass Parakeets (Neophema)

Blue-winged Grass Parakeet or Blue-winged Parrot (Neophema chrysostoma) - Range: Native to Tasmania, where they breed in spring and summer, and southeast Australia, where many of them winter. The flock size ranges from pairs in breeding season to up to 2,000 birds just before autumn migration.

Orange-bellied Parrots - Range: Coastal areas of Tasmania. Overwinters along the coast of southeast Australia. Visits several offshore islands in Bass Strait. Formerly could be found near Sydney, New South Wales.

Scarlet-chested Parakeet - Range: Southern Australia from extreme southwest Queensland, western new South Wales and northwest Victoria to southeast Western Australia.

Turquoisine Parakeets - Range: Southern Australia from extreme southwest Queensland, western New South Wales and northwest Victoria to southeast Western Australia.

Ground Parrots aka Eastern Ground Parrot, Swamp Parrot or Button-grass Parrot (Pezoporus wallicus wallicus) - Range: Australia

Hooded Parrot (Psephotus dissimilis) - Range: Australia - very north-eastern region of the Northern Territory

King Parakeet (Alisterus scapularis) - Range: Eastern coast of Australia

Mallee Ringnecks / also known as the Mallee Parrots - Native: South-eastern Australia

Mulga Parrot (Psephotus varius) aka Many-colored Parrot - Range: Interior of southern Australia

Musk Lorikeet (Glossopsitta concinna) - Range: South-central/eastern Australia

Night Parrot (Geopsittacus occidentalis) - Range: Endemic to Australia, but could possibly be extinct

Northern Rosella (Platycercus venustus), also known as Brown's Parakeet or Smutty Rosella - Range: Western, North-western and Northern Australia; adjacent islands

Orange-bellied Grass Parakeet (Neophema chrysogaster)- Range: Breeds in Tasmania and winters in coastal grasslands on southern mainland mainland coast of south-eastern South Australia and southern Victoria

Pale-headed Rosella (Platycercus adscitus palliceps) - Range: Australia, specifically Northern Queensland, South of Cairns and Mitchell River to Southern New South Wales

Leadbeater's Cockatoo aka White Black-billed Cockatoos (Cacatua leadbeateri leadbeateri aka Plyctolophus leadbeateri) - Range: Mid-western Australia

Little Lory (Glossopsitta pusilla) - Range: Eastern & south-eastern Australia, including Tasmania

Long-billed Corella (Cacatua tenuirostris) - Range: Australia, around western Victoria and southern New South Wales. Feral populations have also sprung up in Sydney and Perth from the release of unwanted birds. This has serious implications in Western Australia

Macleay's Fig-Parrot or Red-browed Fig-Parrot (Cyclopsitta diophthalma macleayana)- Range: from Cooktown to Paluma in north Queensland (first described by Ramsay in 1874)

Marshall's Fig-Parrot (Cyclopsitta diophthalma marshalli) - Range: from eastern Cape York Peninsula, North Queenlands

Night Parakeet Geopsittacus occidentalis) - Range: Interior and northern Australia

Northern Rosella (Platycercus venustus) - Range: Northern Territory, northwestern Australia, and adjacent islands

Paradise Parrot (Psephotus pulcherrimus) - Range: Was native to Queensland - New South Wales border area of Australia - extinct

Palm Cockatoos (Probosciger aterrimus aterrimus - Range: Aru Island, Misool Western Papuan Island (Maluku Province) in Western New Guinea, Northern Australia, Southern New Guinea, Cape York Peninsula

Port Lincoln Parakeet (Barnardius zonarius) - Range: Central and west Australia

Princess Parakeet (Polytelis alexandrae) - Range: Interior Australia

Purple-crowned Lorikeets - Range: Eastern Victoria to the south of Western Australia

Queensland Eclectus Parrots aka Australian Red-sided Eclectus (Eclectus roratus macgillivraryi) - Range: Cape York Peninsula of Australia

Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) - Range: Eastern seaboard of Australia, ranging from Queensland to South Australia. Also found around northwest Tasmania

Red-capped ParrotRed-capped Parrot or Parakeet (Purpureicephalus spurius) - Range: Southwestern Australia

Red-cheeked Parrot (Geoffroyus geoffroyi geoffroyi) - Range: Australia, Indonesia - specifically Timor (province East Nusa Tenggara) and Wetar Islands (province Maluku) in the Lesser Sunda Islands, and Papua New Guinea

Red-collared Lorikeet (Trichoglossus rubritorquis) - Range: Northern Australia

Red-rumped Parrot (Psephotus haematonotus) - Range: Common in south-eastern Australia

Red-winged Parrots (Aprosmictus erythropterus) aka red-shouldered parrots / parakeets, blood-winged and crimson-winged parrots / parakeets - Range: Southern New Guinea and northern and northeastern Australia, except along the east coast

Regent or Splendour Parakeet (Polytelis anthopeplus anthopeplus) - Range: Southeast Australia

Rock Parrots or Rock Grass Parakeets (Neophema petrophila) - Range: Southern Australia

Rosellas (Platycercus) - Range: Australia and some nearby islands

Scaly-breasted Lorikeet (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus) - Range: North-eastern Australia

Starlet-chested Parakeet (Neophema splendida) - also known alternately as Scarlet-breasted parrot, Orange-throated parrot or Splendid parrot - Range: Western New South Wales to interior Western Australia

Short-billed Black Cockatoos aka Large Black Cockatoos or Carnaby's Black-Cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus latirostris) - Range: South-western Australia

Sulphur Crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) - Range: East coast of Australia, extending along the northern coast and across the seas into Papua New Guinea

Yellow Rosella (Platycercus flaveolus) - Range: Southern New South Wales, northern Victoria, and eastern South Australia
