Amboina King ParrotClick here for a detailed map of Indonesia

Indonesia has some of the most spectacular birds in the world, including cockatoos, parrots, and Birds of Paradise. However, habitat destruction and illegal trapping for the pet bird trade have decimated their numbers. The Indonesian Parrot Project, led by Dr. Stewart Metz, has taken on the difficult task of protecting endemic parrots from abuse and extinction. Knowledgeable guides take tourists on tours. If you are interested in touring Indonesia, please visit this webpage. Volunteers who participate in parrot rescue and rehabilitation are also needed. Suitable free accommodation and meals, friendship with caring groups of people, and life-altering experiences can be guaranteed.
