BIGGER IS BETTER! Please provide the largest cage that your space and budget allows. Birds need room to exercise; their cage should spacious enough to accommodate several toys, perches, cage accessories, sleeping tents, etc. A large macaw or cockatoo cage should offer at least 40 inches in width. If your pet spends most of its day outside the cage a little smaller is acceptable.

If you have the space, but money is tight -you might consider a used cage and refurbish it, if necessary. Do make sure to disinfect any second-hand cage very carefully before allowing your pet to use it, to prevent the spread of disease.
