Budgies are extremely active and need to have space for fluttering around the cage. For this reason, your budgie cage should be lengthy rather than high in order to provide some room for flying.

Pleaes note: All of these cages - except the "Top Pick Cage", which is heavier and sturdier - are light-weight. I really don't recommend them if they are is a good chance that dogs or cats could knock them over. Some of the cage doors can easily be opened by cats. If you have dogs and/or cats, I would recommend heavier / sturdier cages; and/or allow only supervised contact. Nonetheless, dogs and cats need to be trained to behave appropriately around the birds.

The below cage is fine for budgies, canaries and finches - but without the removable divider. However, the divider comes in handy when separating two fighting birds or young chicks ...
